YUL is a high-end residential project which includes two 39-storey high-rise towers of 390 units each. The towers are built on a 5-level underground parking lot, linked to 15 townhouses.
Phase I, completed in 2017, comprises the construction of the garage, townhouses and one of the towers, as well as the restoration of Sir Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine house, an impressive urban building erected between 1844 and 1846 and recognised as a heritage site.
The projected structures include 5 levels of underground parking for the condo towers, one level of parking for the townhouse section, installation of the sewage and water systems, underpinning, rock anchoring, and blasting works.
The depth of the excavation is approximately 17m. Soil retention is made with pilings, timbering, rock tie rods and netting. The rock faces were planned to eliminate asperities .
The support used is a Berlin-type wall and rock anchorage, 4,500 m2 of timbering and 170 bored piles of 18m.
