NEW PROJECT AWARD | Baldwin Park Outdoor Pool

Magil Construction is pleased and proud to announce that it has been awarded the design-build contract for the new outdoor pool to be located in the northwest sector of Baldwin Park, on the site of the current soccer field, in the heart of Plateau-Mont-Royal.

This major project aims to once again provide neighbourhood residents with a must-visit summer destination in a major urban park that plays a central role in the community.

The official groundbreaking ceremony, held on October 14, marked the start of construction on the new pool. The event was attended by Plateau-Mont-Royal Borough, as well as members of the media.

Developed in close collaboration with the City of Montréal, this design-build mandate includes the design and construction of a contemporary, sustainable and universally accessible facility. The complex—the first of its kind with a capacity of 1,000 people at a time—will feature several zones designed for a variety of uses, including a 50-metre pool with three swimming lanes, a safe and fun wading pool for younger children, and a pool deck with a shaded area. A service building housing universal change rooms, washroom facilities and dedicated operations spaces will complete the complex.

The project is designed to provide an immersive, accessible, flexible and inclusive experience, offering a range of aquatic activities suited to users of all ages and abilities, while integrating seamlessly into Baldwin Park’s landscape and supporting smooth circulation throughout the site.

In keeping with its commitments, Magil Construction will deliver this project using best practices in sustainable development, universal accessibility and performance. The objective is to deliver a long-lasting, inclusive and inspiring facility that will become an iconic summer gathering place for generations to come.
