Phase One of the new Critical Care Pavilion included the construction of five levels of underground parking and the first three levels of this new structure. Site works included an underground tunnel, an ambulance arrival area, and landscaping of an exterior courtyard garden.
Phases Two and Three were the continuity of Phase One and part of the ongoing growth initiative of this hospital centre. Construction totalled an area of 47,220 m2. The new pavilion included a three-storey podium for hospital services with an 80,000 square foot print, which supported a 12-storey tower above five underground levels dedicated to parking and large scale mechanical and electrical rooms.
Subsequent phases included the completion of the podium and the construction of the 12-storey tower that will house the related care units and private rooms. The work also included new facilities for coronary care, neonatology intensive care and operating rooms.
