Acting as a reference within the company, the planning engineer is responsible for all planning and evaluation of the progress of international projects. He reports to the Vice President of International Operations.


  • Make a detailed WBS (SDP)
  •  Verify and validate the feasibility of deadlines (with International Works Directors)
  •  Organize the weekly recording of each project (multi-site / multi-country)
  •  Update project schedules on a weekly basis
  •  Calculate labor costs (past and future)
  •  Determine future manpower requirements and tools that will be needed from International Works Directors
  •  Calculate the performance of each project
  •  Validate the progress report of the work of the subcontractors (with the works directors)
  •  Check the adequacy between the workforce and the future workload (with the works directors)
  •  Establish different scenarios and propose alternatives to the Director Works
  •  Participate in monthly coordination meetings with the client (with works directors)
  •  Explain to the client the milestones of the contract under his responsibility
  •  Explain to the customer the decreases or extra costs due to the delay
  •  Work with the contracts director for claims negotiation
  •  Develop a good relationship with the project management assistant
  •  Prepare a detailed report monthly



  • Ideally five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience;
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and MS Project software; Primavera
  • Have a good understanding of the sequence of work and duration of an international building construction, industrial and civil engineering project;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects or tasks, have good time management skills;
  • Ability to maximize the use of current software, seek opportunities for innovation;
  • Work independently, motivated, collaborative, assertive;
  • Ability to interact with all members of project teams: subcontractors, field staff, client, etc. ;
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing / graphically;
  • Bilingualism English, French;
  • Spanish will be an asset
